Admissions & Enrollment

The application process consists of the following steps:

  1. Complete the online application form on our website
  2. Submit required documents (transcripts, test scores, recommendation letters)
  3. Pay the application fee
  4. Schedule and attend an admissions interview
  5. Receive your admission decision within 2-3 weeks

We have rolling admissions throughout the year, but we recommend applying by these dates:

  • Fall Semester (September): Priority deadline March 31st, Regular deadline June 30th
  • Winter Semester (January): Priority deadline October 31st, Regular deadline December 15th

International students should apply at least 3 months before their intended start date to allow time for visa processing.

Required documents include:

  • Completed application form
  • Official transcripts from previous schools (last 2-3 years)
  • Two letters of recommendation (from teachers or counselors)
  • Copy of passport or birth certificate
  • Standardized test scores (if applicable)
  • English proficiency test results (for international students)
  • Immunization records
  • Recent passport-size photo

Yes! We offer campus tours Monday through Friday at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM, and Saturdays at 10:00 AM. Tours last approximately 60-90 minutes and include:

  • Classroom visits
  • Meeting with admissions staff
  • Tour of facilities (library, labs, gymnasium, cafeteria)
  • Q&A session with current students
  • Overview of programs and extracurricular activities

Please contact us at least 48 hours in advance to schedule your tour.

Academic Programs

Maple Grove International School offers comprehensive programs for grades K-12:

  • Elementary School: Kindergarten through Grade 8
  • High School: Grades 9-12

All programs follow the Ontario Ministry of Education curriculum with additional enrichment opportunities.

We maintain a 15:1 student-teacher ratio across all grade levels, ensuring personalized attention and support for every student. ESL classes have even smaller ratios, with a maximum of 12 students per class.

Yes! We offer both:

  • Advanced Placement (AP) Courses: Available in English, Mathematics, Sciences, History, and more
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme: Full IB diploma or individual certificate courses for grades 11-12

These programs provide university-level coursework and can earn students college credits.

International Students

Yes! Maple Grove International School welcomes students from around the world. We currently have students from over 40 countries and provide comprehensive support services including:

  • ESL programs at all levels
  • Cultural orientation and integration support
  • Homestay placement assistance
  • Study permit application guidance
  • Airport pickup services
  • 24/7 emergency support

While we welcome students at all English proficiency levels, we assess each student's language skills during the application process. Students with limited English proficiency will be placed in our ESL program and gradually integrated into mainstream classes as their language skills develop.

Accepted English proficiency tests include TOEFL, IELTS, and Duolingo English Test. However, these are not mandatory if students are willing to start in our ESL program.

Yes, we offer two accommodation options:

  • Homestay Program: Live with a carefully selected Canadian family in a safe, welcoming home environment. Includes private room, meals, and family support.
  • Guardian Arrangement: Students may live with a legal guardian (relative or approved custodian) in the Toronto area.

All homestay families are vetted, trained, and monitored to ensure student safety and wellbeing.

School Life & Facilities

We offer a wide range of extracurricular activities including:

  • Sports: Basketball, volleyball, soccer, swimming, badminton, track and field
  • Arts: Drama, music, choir, visual arts, photography
  • Clubs: Robotics, coding, debate, Model UN, environmental club, yearbook
  • Leadership: Student council, peer mentoring, community service

All students are encouraged to participate in at least one extracurricular activity.

Our modern campus features:

Regular school hours are:

  • Elementary (K-8): 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM
  • High School (9-12): 8:45 AM - 3:30 PM

Before-school supervision begins at 8:00 AM. After-school programs and activities are available until 5:30 PM.

Support Services

We provide comprehensive support services including:

  • Academic Support: Tutoring, homework help, study skills workshops
  • Counseling: Academic advising, university planning, personal counseling
  • Health Services: Full-time nurse, health education, mental health support
  • Special Education: Learning support, IEPs, accommodations
